The organization takes initiative by the Order of the Ministers of the Sick (Camillians) on the shores of Lake Victoria in Karungu, Kenya. The organization includes the missionary hospital St. Camillus and the St. Camillus Center for Orphans of Dala Kiye. The missionary hospital St. Camillus was founded in 1997 by the religious congregation to assist the sick, poor and needy people of Kenya. The Dala Kiye Centre was initiated in 1999 in response to the constant increase of AIDS orphans. These children would be destined to a life of desperation and insecurity. In 2001, the Centre marked the beginning of a restoration project and in July 2002 it was then registered with the Department of Social Services of Migori District as an institution of charity and social assistance for children affected and infected by AIDS . Love and compassion for children in need are the values around which revolve all its initiatives.
