I want to start from afar by quoting Democritus

“Happiness does not reside in power or gold. The sense of happiness dwells in the soul”.

Giving a little happiness to others is also taught by scouting, which is based on a simple code of values of life (scout law and promise), those values of life that must develop responsibility and formation of character. The aim of scouting with its method of learning by doing is to become “good citizens” engaged in life and predisposed to be “citizens of the world”.

I found myself on many occasions remembering what I had learned from the distant years, those years so important in the formative path, which always comes back in the course of everyone’s life.

In adulthood, let’s say also in old age, in which a report is drawn up, I realize that the Scout law has most likely inspired a bit of my life experiences.

Volunteering, especially in Africa has been and always is a continuous challenge, which gives better results only if you are charged with passion and enthusiasm in what you do and repays you for everything.
